Latest Dark Nail Design

Just wanted to show off my nails that I did for this past Halloween! I only did this as a tester so it was only on one hand XD These were the longest nails I ever had. If you're familiar with using nail form extensions, I typically only go to #3 or #2 for something shorter. These were a #5. Surprisingly it wasn't hard to function everyday with it other than at work cuz I have to type on a keyboard. I really loved the skull with the dangling rose. I took it from one of my earrings cuz it wasn't getting used and just tore that apart, along with the chain on my thumb nail. ^^;; Hope you like! I gotta try to get back into making more nails routinely. Would you purchase if I made some for sale? :D

I'm Back!! Included Hair Review Post

Hello readers, I'm back from a little hiatus. >_< Sorry for disappearing since summer. I had a lot of troubles with this blog because I wanted to get rid of the stupid LinkWithin on my pages and it wouldn't go away unless I deleted my blog and restarted it again. Which I did with everything saved and exported BUT what I didn't realize is that all my followers and statistics were gone :( Pretty frustrating. I tried to undelete the blog but Blogger kept having an error until recently I was about to revive it. I had started a temporary blog in the meantime with only 17 followers so there was no update and you probably couldn't find my page. My domain also expired and Blogger became SO complicated with trying to renew it and get your blog to redirect to the new name (I only figured it out now). So from now on, my new domain is katokathy.NET! Not .COM anymore cuz I can't get it for some reason. *sigh* That was why all the trouble and you haven't heard from me. So I will bless this post with a hair review of what had been going on since summer that I hope you will find useful :)

Happie Nuts/EGG-Style Look

Hey guys! I haven't posted any recent style photos and there's been little changes. Of course the purple hair and my blonde is now a lighter ash. I also tried out a new makeup style here inspired by Sakurina and Nino! ;D I haven't done the whole drawing the bottom eyeliner lower thing to make your eyes appear bigger so I tried and definitely loving the results~ It's also my first time trying to contour my nose (successfully) if you even noticed ^^;;

New Purple Streaks - Joico's Intensity Color

Hi readers~ If you've been on my Twitter or Facebook page, you'd know that I had recently dyed my hair purple ^-^ Just some strands underneath all my main hair color. I've been meaning to get it multicolored streaked like this:

That's my ultimate goal! So I went on Sally's and ordered some colors from Ion Brilliance with the bleach since my current blonde hair isn't light enough apparently for the pinks/blues/greens to be pastel. I have to dye it to a white platinum blonde O_O!! But while that's in pending with shipping, I got bored of course and decided to just go ahead and use my mom's tubes of hair dye when she had it purple before. And voila, this was the result. I used Joico's Color Intensity for this.  The purple is pretty vibrant and some parts are already fading into a silvery color instead of the lilac/lavender I was looking for since my blonde is a bit too dark. But it was a fun experiment. Surprisingly I got rave reviews lol

I think I will add on the other colors once it arrives to see what they look like on my ash blonde first before dyeing it white.

Joico is highly recommended for anyone who plans to try it out. It doesn't smell that strong at all. Smells nice actually and doesn't have any burning sensation. The colors really stick as long as you continue to just use conditioner on your hair since shampoo really washes it out. But since I like the faded washed out look, I'm using shampoo every now and then. Wouldn't really mind if the streaks came out silver though, I think that would look cool!

SPONSORED ~ EOS Violet Daisy Series - Lens Review (Mukuchu)

Usage Modality:  One Year Disposable
BC:  8.8 mm
DIA:  14.8 mm
Water content:  38%

Comfort: As with all EOS lenses that I've had in the past, these ones were also quite comfortable. The left one was ok, the right one had a little sharp edge at first that quickly went away after a few seconds.

★★★★
Color & Enlargement: The color isn't usually what I'd pick, cuz I'm not that big a fan of purple contacts (although it matches the hair color that I currently dyed). Up close, both design and color are very bold and looks similar to the King Barbie series by Sakurina; so it's very vibrant and shows up well even on dark eyes. At the same time the color can seem subtle when you're a distance away like in the photo I took above. It can just almost pass off as another color.
★★★★

Hope you also like my new make-up style! ^^ It's been awhile since I've used really dark colors and black eyeshadow. Please also bear with me with the horrifying quality, my camera is broken as mentioned in the last post so right now I'm just using my 8.1 MP Japanese camera phone Dx as opposed to the fuzzy Itouch one. My new camera should be arriving in 2 weeks or so! ^o^

Second Trip to California~

Wow, now that I'm back on track and recovering from a tiring vacation, I can now blog about it! Last week my boyfriend and I drove down to Cali for the summer trip. We stayed in San Francisco for a night and went straight to LA. Driving was BRUTAL. I hated it. So much. With a passion lol. And I didn't even drive XDDD so that being said, everyone should feel bad for my bf. Considering it's a 22hr transport from here in Canada to down there. Usually that would take at least two people to switch back and forth but I don't have a license (until now) so... x3

We drove for 6hrs at first, hoping to pass through Washington and once we got to Oregon we TRIED sleeping in the car for a bit. Like, really a bit. It got SO cold and the car for uncomfortable cuz we we're just using a regular car, not some van or truck. Then we continued straight onto to San Francisco and arrived early afternoon. James' leg was literally dying, I felt so bad ;_; But going through WA and OR wasn't bad... It's California. HOLY HELL once we reached there it was blazing hot. 8hrs in the car to reach Anaheim. No AC. Sun directly on me. I wanted to die lol. I came back from the trip looking like a Mexican and most of the tanning was from being in the car! Then we decided to hit traffic once we were so close to the hotel. Dx Just ugh... No more trips to hot places in the summer haha~

But enough of all that lol here I will show you some pics of my trip when meeting with my beautiful little sis, Cindy and the Cali gals.

Photo Shoot by Wilson Lau

Pics from the shoot last week is here. Click on the images for full resolution. These are just some of main ones I liked and will be featured on the upcoming newspaper/website on Thurs! ^o^ Can't wait to pick up a copy~

I'm so happy with the outcome cuz I did my own make-up styling this time and it actually looks right instead of awkward like the last shoot >.> Just didn't suit me. This was a free shooting so I didn't have to pay so much money, the photographer actually scoped me out on ModelMayhem for a newspaper and boutique. Wilson was such a nice photographer and helped me with all poses. Definitely hope to work with him again :)

Recent July Shops, Nails and Style

Hello readers~ Just wanted to post some of my recent buys that I did for July, with other stuff gradually coming in lol after that I am totally done for the summer cuz I'm literally going poor. Paid off all my bills and my bank is at a miserable amount. Probably the lowest I've ever seen it. ;_;

Here I got in my two new BEAUTIFUL summer dresses from Liz Lisa! I'm finally buying from them again. I still love the brand, just got tired of too much floral patterned clothing I guess. Everything else I still want to buy that includes ribbons, bows, frills, lace etc. As you can see all the clothes I have of Liz Lisa that I'm selling are floral items. x)

New Nail Designs and a d.i.a-Style Bikini

An update on my current nails I did for working at the nail salon. Yes, I got the job :) Just as a receptionist though. I'm planning to make my way up by starting here and knowing all the terms and different kind of nails, products etc. while practicing at the same time. Then I'll probably go to school for it later on in the year or next year XD totally putting off going back to school.

I'm not a big fan of the square cut nails anymore but I did it this time since it has more room for me to do the 3D arts. Rounded tips are way better, just so much longer to take if I use nail tips instead of creating it with gel. I noticed every time I created the gel ones myself they don't last as long as pressing on nail tips. But the con with tips is that it's sooooo annoying with the constant manicuring =_= I don't have that buffer tool and manicure everything by hand so rounded tips take more time.

My acrylic 3D art is getting better, JUST SLIGHTLY! XD It still frustrates me but the flowers are becoming more defined. I did the flowers here and tried a rose but that's still hard so I made a bow which wasn't too bad. I went ahead and tried the gradient coloring with the first nail instead of only using white. Still need more practice with the black cuz it gets too messy.

And here's my bikini I  bought from DreamV that arrived! :D I love it so much, I'm going to use it as motivation for losing weight! =^= I've been gaining SO much lately since I came back from my 2 trips and it's scaring me cuz my jeans require more effort getting into T_____T Been wearing loose sweatpants or shorts too much lately that I've been underestimating how much I've been eating/gaining AH!

My giveaway will be coming soon! I'm already gathering the items for it :) Stay tuned~

Los Angeles Trip ~ Part 3

On the last 2 days I went to Disneyland with Cindy and Universal Studios with Abbie. I wasn't able to take too much photos of my Hollywood trip cuz I was too busy running around going on rides repetitively. XD But here's a couple from DL!

Los Angeles Trip ~ Part 2

Los Angeles Trip ~ Part 1

Picture heavy post of my recent trip to Cali! I'm gonna pile everything into 3 parts x)

First night I landed in LA, I didn't do much other than check in the hotel, eat and go to bed. The very nice and cute receptionist who flirted with me gave me a room with a great balcony view of the Disneyland fireworks XD (which was just down the street from my place). It was extremely lonely because it was a solo trip and my boyfriend wasn't there. -_____-;; I'm like that forever alone woman with cats.

New Disney-Themed Nails, Buys and Hair

Hey readers! I wanted to show you the gel nails I made last night for my L.A trip TOMORROW! I tried making them Disney-themed and was kind of racking my brains for an idea. I had the Mickey Mouse rhinestones... But for the color choices I had no clue what to do so I decided red/silver. Red for Mickey's pants? I wanted to put on polka dots but it got too messy and I settled for Dalmation spots. The pink hearts added for something "princessy".

It was the first time I used nail tips which I'm not a fan of. I went to the night market and looked at the nail booths for cheap items but they don't sell nail forms! I asked around and the Chinese ladies would smirk at me acting like they know everything and say, "no, I don't think those exist". Or thinking I meant actual already done false nails that you glue on. Psssh~~ Apparently this method is just too advanced for them to comprehend. -___- I don't like nail tips much cause it requires too much manicuring/filing and the shaping is hard in my opinion. Well, at least I learned something. It wouldn't be hard if I kept it the square cut shape but I'm more of a fan of rounded tips.

Bought these from the night market. Can you believe the Jumily lashes I got for $23?! From a stand where girls were selling a lot of Japanese branded makeup. THEN I went down further to a few stands away and bought the next 2 lashes... for $10 EACH! WTF! It was from the same old man who sold me cheap Dolly Wink lashes last year and those cute ruffle garter stockings that people usually sell for $20+, he gave it to me for $12. He even remembered me! That's it. I'm going to him every year now. The bad thing is that he only has one of each item and not that many brands. So if it's gone, it's gone. While the other girls can stock more. Better go early and buy it all from him next time since it's so cheap. I felt like I was ripped off lol.

My outfit for the night. I'm quite fond of this coordination lol. Oh and this is also the hair color I dyed it last week? :) It's the same color, I just had to get rid of my horrifying black roots. I'm starting to get A LITTLE more successful of sujimori-ing XD

That's all folks! I'm off to finish packing to leave tomorrow. Anyone in Cali wanna come hang out? FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME! :D Lol I'm very excited to go meet the gals there. If you're up for Disneyland or Universal Studios that would be awesome~

Eye Makeup Tutorial #1

As per requested by Laura May, here is a tutorial of how I did my eye makeup from the previous lens review. I tried my best in explaining properly and breaking things done ^^;; Sorry it's a bit amateurish as this is one of my first tutorials. Hope it helps!

SPONSORED ~ Geo Gray Blanket Flower - Lens Review (Mukuchu)

Usage Modality:  One Year Disposable
BC:  8.6 mm
DIA:  15.0 mm
Water content:  38%

(views of the lens in different lighting)

Comfort: The lenses were quite comfortable like the last pair of the Flower Series I got. No irritation whatsoever when I put them on other than a bit of dryness which isn't too much of an inconvenience.

★★★★☆

Color & Enlargement: You know the term, "stormy eyes"? Well I certainly think I found the color that describes it! I am absolutely in love with the color and 15.0mm enlargement. There's a bit of a glossy shine to it too to make the eyes have more impact. At first I was confused as to what the color I received was, since depending on the light it does change to being bluish. I dunno if this is the case with all gray lenses. I only had one pair of gray lenses before (Ash Wing) but it was a purposely mixed with blue color and doesn't even seem gray 90% of the time. I'm stunned with the pattern too, which isn't too decorative in terms of a flower image.

My First Gel Nail Design - Princess Style

Hey readers! Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been preoccupied with a lot of things nowadays (especially work and well... reading LOL) I've been into The Hunger Games fandom immensely and I find myself reading for constant hours and putting off everything else. ^^;; Sorry! I just wanted to update with this little post of my nails that I currently did. By myself! :D They're the first gel nails I attempted after buying the whole equipment haul on Ebay. I'm still learning without school so there are some flaws. But I hope to find more models to practice on and get better before going into schooling for it... maybe at the end of the year (probably not lol). Thought I would just try out an easy princess theme before I get ideas/inspirations to do other harder designs.

These are my attempts at 3D flowers with acrylic powder for the first time. They look kinda miserable lol it's a bit harder than I thought. Especially to get the shaping right. I don't even have the right art brush for it and sufficed with my standard gel nail brush. The gold one looks nice probably because I threw on that pink stone flower to make it more tolerable XD

Couple weeks left before I go to Cali! WOOT! Can't wait to meet fellow gyaru down there :)
And I'm also thinking of holding another giveaway soon yes? I wanted to wait till it hits the 700 followers mark but I think I'll do one earlier~

Anna Fujita-Style Inspired - happie nuts

Hey readers! Here's a picture post of my latest style inspired by Anna Fujita! Katrina said in one of the pics I actually look like Sayoko Ozaki because of the make-up XD I'm really happy I got it spot on. I've been interested in these casual to mature styles but haven't actually tried them out other than the usual flashy d.i.a/MA*RS/Golds Infinity type. I wanted to try their more casual clothes that are more western-like. But right now I don't have the money to buy from brands such as garula so I just improvised with cheaper clothes here lol. Finally bought that long wanted leather jacket to coordinate with!

Here are the results and I hope you enjoy the images :) (I realized this is the first time I'm posting a style with my new hair color). My comment section is now by DISQUS because IntenseDatabase was being extremely annoying every time I install a new layout, it can't be reinstalled on my new layout no matter what I tried. -.-*

DreamV NuBra Review

I finally got around to buying these NuBras that I've been wondering about for awhile. Not being blessed with the biggest boobs around (I am an A cup), I didn't want to be ripped off with breast enhancement stuff (not medication) like "miracle push-up bras", gel inserts or those chicken cutlets which I remembered buying for my grad dress in the past because the sellers said it guarantees to enhance my cleavage. Nope. Those things popped right off when I tried to pull it up to create bigger cleavage. So it required me placing them quite far back to my side and gather up my entire breast.

I saw these on sale numerous times, even Chinese versions at stores over here and I didn't know if they really worked or not. I didn't want it popping off again. -.- But from the pictures, it shows that the bra is strong enough to hold a full water bottle! And because this is more Asian-oriented and I know typically Asian girls aren't blessed with C's or D's so I thought I'd try it. After all, the bras over here are more marketing towards westerners with already big boobs. They don't need much push-up.

Here's my results:

Mini Update on a Few Shops and Sales Post

Hey readers! Just a mini post of a few shops I got in from the past weeks. The DreamV boots and Liz Lisa dress are ordered for a customer of mine! If you didn't know yet, I do have an online boutique store on Facebook (Vixxen). Feel free to contact me or browse through the products :) I sell mainly Japanese branded clothes and can order stuff for you, acting as a shopping service too.

My wonderful NuBras from DreamV as well as the numerous stockings lol. My friends all loved the ones I wore so they asked me to buy some for them too. I actually have one garter stocking available in my sales tab post above ^

This was a small post indeed. I'm now off to make another "review" entry coming right after of these NuBras I got. Look out for it!
